    As of 1 November 2011, all food storage warehouses are required to be registered with AVA. AVA defines “food storage warehouse” as any building, facility, structure, or premise, in whole or in part, where food is stored for the sale or distribution to other processors, wholesalers or any other business selling or distributing to the ultimate consumer. A “warehouse operator” will be defined as a person engaged in the business of operating or controlling a food storage warehouse Warehouse operators will be required to apply with AVA for the “Registration to Operate a Food Storage Warehouse” online, via the Online Business Licensing Service (OBLS) at https://licences.business.gov.sg

    1.Do I need to apply for this licence? Any ACRA-registered business or company holding a UEN (unique entity number), and operating a food storage warehouse must register with AVA Please note that any warehouse which premises and operations are covered under existing AVA's Factory license, NEA's Food Shop license, or sells/distributes food directly to consumers as its primary function, will not need to register. 2.What conditions do I need to fulfil? Before proceeding to register the Food Storage Warehouse, you are required to fulfil the following conditions: Registration of Business and Company - Applicant is required to first register with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), under the Business Registration Act (Cap. 32); or in the case of a company, incorporated or registered under the Companies Act (Cap. 50); 3.What supporting documents do I need to submit? You are required to furnish the following documents/information together with the completed application form to the Food Establishment Regulation Department, Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) for processing: •Architectural Layout Plan - The Architectural Layout Plan must be drawn to a minimum scale of 1:50. The plans are to be endorsed and signed by the owner. •Pest Control Programme - To provide an effective pest control programme carried out in-house or by an external pest control company. Please include the contract with the Pest Control Company and the type of pests to be controlled by them. •Tenancy Agreement - Between the warehouse landlord and tenant. 4.How soon can my application be processed? Within 7 working days from the date of application. 5.How much does this licence cost and how long is it valid? The Registration of Food Storage Warehouse costs S$21.50 and it is a one-off registration. No renewal is required. 6.Who can I contact for further details?
